Description

For a third year, dissonArt ensemble coordinates a contemporary music workshop which is addressed to composers as much as to performers.

Concerning the composers there is a call for a work written for any combination of the instruments: flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano. The compositions will be rehearsed and worked throughout the workshop and will be performed in the final concert. The work's duration should not exceed 10 minutes and should be sent to Music Village's address until the 10th of July 2010.

Performers at any level and age are invited to participate in order to come to direct contact with contemporary music . Lessons will include improvisation practices, notation and technique issues, listening to contemporary works, private teaching and ensemble coaching. Contemporary ensemble works will be sent to participants interested to perform within an ensemble. Solo works of 20th -21rst century can also be worked in private lessons.

Finally, dissonArt and the director Alexandros Efkleidis will organize a unique production of Yannis Christou's ritual work Epikyklos. The work is an open form, where musicians and performers coexist. The line between artist and spectator is blurred, as every performance of the work recommends a different version. The work will take place at most of the village spaces and all participants will be invited to take part, either by presenting a work that will have been already prepared, or by realizing simple actions. A unique project with the whole Music Village involved through this great work by the famous Greek composer.

Coaching will be given by the members of dissonArt ensemble:
Jannis Anissegos (winds)
Theodoros Patsalidis ( strings)
Lenio Liatsou (piano)
